IIDA Georgia, IIDA’s Large Chapter of the Year, recently spent a day with the interior design and architecture students of Maxwell High School of Technology.

Participating students and professionals
IIDA Chapter leaders created a student charette in which students were faced with the task of designing Maxwell High School’s front office–a space in need of updating and refurbishing. Charged with creating their designs in three hours, student groups were quickly paired with professionals and given access to Teknion’s showroom, Sherwin Williams and Interface product samples.

Maxwell students presenting their finished design
Students collaborated with their professionals, sketched and assessed product all before presenting their finished designs to a panel of judges. The winning team included interior design students: Melissa Bautista-Martinez, Curry Reach, and Erika Gordon, and architecture students: CJ Clark and Ahsan Houston.
